Packaging, Print, and Display DesignThis revolutionary new liquid line infuses bio-keratin into the hair shaft, which is represented in the mold of the bottle. The liquid is outside the hair shaft at the top of the bottle—then, as it twists down the bottle, it penetrates inside. The underwater photography was risky because it didn't show typical trendy hairstyles—instead, it showed the infusion of water and moisture, driving home this cutting-edge haircare technology. Bottles were set at different heights on poles and photographed with depth of perspective.

Packaging and CollateralAura had an existing haircare line based on aromatherapy and botanical ingredients, so introducing candles was the logical next step. The clear package allowed the candle to show through the container. Textures were printed on the boxes to match the mood of the candles: clouds for Serenity, water for Harmony, and a wave for Awaken. I worked with the chemists to develop and test the scents for each candle.

The image on the left represents the scientific/innovative work they do, and the image on the right shows life outside of work. We wanted employees to be passionate about both.

Benefits communication had a more traditional look using large, four-color images that bleed. The new Be Well logo, which tied to the scientific nature of what Nalco does, suggests that wellness is a core element on the periodic table.
